What is EMFACE?
EMFACE is a noninvasive, FDA-cleared facial rejuvenation treatment that tones facial muscles, reduces wrinkles, and tightens the skin. It is a nonsurgical alternative to a facelift and brow lift, and a needle-free alternative to BOTOX® Cosmetic and dermal filler injections.
How does it work?
EMFACE, similar to EMSCULPT Neo® (without the fat burning), emits the following 2 advanced technologies from applicators applied to the face:
High-intensity electromagnetic stimulation (HIFES™), which contracts muscles of the forehead and cheeks to tone facial muscles and lift the structures of the face—the elevator muscles within the SMAS (submuscular aponeurotic system) that are typically involved in a surgical facelift.
Radiofrequency (RF) energy, which increases collagen and elastin production in the skin to smooth away wrinkles, increase elasticity, and improve firmness. The RF energy radiates well beyond the applicators for wide-reaching rejuvenation.
Who is a good candidate for EMFACE?
EMFACE can improve skin and facial structure in adults of all ages. Ideal candidates are women and men in their 40s to 50s who want to correct mild to moderate facial aging, or people in their 30s looking for a preventative treatment. Benefits include:

People who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have metal implants in the face or head cannot have EMFACE.
What should I expect during my EMFACE treatment?
EMFACE treatments do not require preparation. We do ask that you come to your appointment with a freshly cleansed face free of makeup and lotion. Your practitioner will have a brief consultation to ensure you are a good candidate and have realistic expectations for your results. She will then take photos from multiple angles that will be used to record your progress.
You will relax face up on the treatment table during your session. Your practitioner will apply the self-adhesive EMFACE applicators to your forehead and cheeks, and a grounding patch on your back. Your practitioner will then begin the treatment and gradually adjust the intensity while making sure you are comfortable. Once the proper level is reached, your provider will turn on some calming spa music and allow you to relax. You will have a call button to push if you need anything during your 20-minute treatment.
Once the time is up, your practitioner will gently remove the applicators and apply a nourishing lotion to your skin, and you will be free to return to your day.
What does EMFACE feel like?
EMFACE may feel “weird” but it is not painful. As the system alternates between muscle stimulation and RF energy, you’ll feel your facial muscles tighten and then a sensation of warmth.
What is recovery like after an EMFACE treatment?
Your face may be slightly flushed for about 30 minutes—that’s it. There is no recovery time or aftercare needed.
How many treatments will I need?
We perform EMFACE as a series of 4 treatments each spaced about a week apart.
When will I notice the results?
Many patients notice firming after their first treatment. Results develop gradually as collagen develops and muscle tone improves with the full effects achieved about 12 weeks after the last session.
How long do the results last?
Results last at least a year. Because the aging process and sun exposure can’t be avoided, we recommend maintenance treatments every 6 months to a year, but they can be performed more frequently if you fall in love with the experience.
