DiVa® Laser Treatment for Vaginal Health
As women age, they experience changes. Some of them are external, like wrinkles or gray hairs. Others are internal and invisible, like changes in vaginal health. Vaginal health is a concern throughout a woman’s life, but there are many life events and circumstances that can negatively impact vaginal health, too.
Dr. Stanislaus Says
"This quick fractional laser treatment for vaginal atrophy is more beneficial than MonaLisa Touch® because it can rejuvenate both the superficial and deeper vaginal tissues."
Menopause may come with age but can also be triggered by surgery, chemotherapy or other medical treatments or a woman may just experience early menopause. Breastfeeding can also cause hormone levels to change. These hormonal fluctuations impact vaginal health. Fluctuating or low estrogen production by the ovaries often leads to thinning, drying and inflammation of the vaginal walls. For many women this may decrease vaginal health.
Pregnancy and vaginal childbirth can cause issues with vaginal and overall pelvic health. Tissues are stretched, bones can shift and nothing is ever quite the same as it was pre-pregnancy. Women can experience permanent damage to the vaginal walls, perineum and surrounding tissue, which often leads to diminished vaginal health. Most of these changes do heal, to a degree, on their own, but damage to the vaginal tissues may impact how you feel.
How does diVa work?
diVa’s revolutionary Hybrid Fractional Laser (HFL) technology delivers two laser therapies at once to impact tissue at the surface of the vaginal walls as well as the deeper layers of tissue in the vagina and other pelvic organs. The first laser delivers energy to the top layers. The second laser uses safe, infrared energy to heat deeper layers of tissue. This allows a personalized experience for each patient. diVa’s hybrid laser (made by Sciton) treats the full length of the vaginal canal, to help women feel younger and more confident.
We want women to feel their best and to be comfortable in their skin during every stage of life.
Who is a candidate for diVa?
Women who are experiencing menopause are excellent candidates for diVa, as are women who have gone through vaginal childbirth. Because diVa doesn’t use estrogen or any other hormones, it is ideal for patients affected by breast cancer, hysterectomy, chemotherapy or other medical conditions that may preclude using hormonal therapies.
What are diVa® patients saying?
After experiencing diVa® treatment, women are feeling more confident and sexier. See what women who have said, “yes” to diVa are saying about their own experiences with this revolutionary laser technology.
What can I expect during my diVa treatment?
diVa is designed to provide a comfortable, fast and easy treatment. A 3-to-5-minute procedure targets the full length of the vaginal canal. Some women experience a slight pressure during the diVa treatment, and some may experience increased sensitivity near the vaginal opening. A topical anesthetic may be applied to increase comfort, but it is not usually necessary. This non-invasive laser treatment has zero down time, which means you may resume regular activities immediately following treatment.
How many diVa treatments will I need?
Your provider will work with you to develop a treatment plan based on your current concerns, a health assessment and your goals. The number of treatments needed for optimal results varies from patient to patient, but the treatment can be repeated over time until satisfactory results are achieved. A typical treatment plan would include up to three procedures spaced every 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by one treatment every 12 months.
"I feel confident and sexy — and my husband, he loves it! He can’t even believe that a treatment could do something like this. It was a very worthwhile investment and I would certainly do it again. I was impressed that the procedure is quick with little to no discomfort and no downtime."
